Well Done to everyone for a good season in a challenging division.

Our Final League position was 4th

P 16 W 9 D 1 L 6 F 100 A 41 Points 28

A comfortable final game of the season, against only 8 players from Bishops Cannings Youth, saw us win 25-1.
Luke B was top scorer with 7, Kealan F scored 5, Max and Ollie W both scored 4, Jimmy netted 3 times, and Sam W and Ollie S both got one each.

Match Report - 31.3.08 home to Bemerton Heath

Marshfield started brightly against top of the table Bemerton - the crisp passing and good movement gave us a lot of possession and we dominated play in the first quarter creating chances against a strong Bemerton defence. James K was posing plenty of questions for the opposition central defenders but it was Aaron F who broke the deadlock with his second goal of the season. Jack A whipped the ball in from a corner and whist the Bemerton defence worried over James K the ball fell to the feet of Aaron who needed no invitation to hammer it home emphatically from 6 yards.

Marshfield continued to play well but as the half wore on Bemerton looked increasingly dangerous, especially on the break, and managed score twice before another great Marshfield move had the crowd on their feet and levelled the score. Aaron stopped a promising Bemerton attack and sharp passing from Kealan gave Jimmy half a yard on the defence. Jimmy outpaced the defence and showed great composure to beat the keeper from 8 yards.

Bemerton were looking sharper as the second half went on and they scored twice more, one a superb long range effort that left Ollie S in the Marshfield goal no chance. Bemerton might of scored more but for some superbly timed challenges from Aaron. Although the game ended 2-4 to Bemerton the it was a close contest that could have gone either way. Our congratulations to Bemerton on winning the league and well done to all Marshfield players for giving the champions a run for their money!
